Academic or General Training: which IELTS do you need?
- IELTS Academic: for universities and colleges in any country, and for most professional registration, such as nursing and medicine.
- IELTS General Training: for most migration and work routes, such as Canada Express Entry and Australian and New Zealand skilled visas.
- UK visas: need a UKVI-approved test (IELTS for UKVI or IELTS Life Skills), whichever module your route asks for.
The course teaches both. Only Reading and Writing differ between Academic and General Training; Listening and Speaking are the same test. Academic · General Training (ielts.org)

Every live class is taught by our CELTA-qualified teacher. CELTA is a teaching qualification from Cambridge English; it is not test-centre approval.

Questions about the course
Can I take the course from any country?
Yes. Classes are live on Google Meet and learners join from many countries. Every class and consultation time on the site is shown in your own time zone.
Which time zone are the classes in?
Group times are set when a group is planned and shown in your own time zone; your exact group is confirmed on the free consultation. 1-to-1 sessions are booked at a time that suits you.
Do you prepare for IELTS for UKVI?
Yes. IELTS for UKVI has the same format and marking as the standard Academic and General Training tests; what differs is the test centre and the booking. We also explain which UK route needs which test. IELTS for UKVI course.
Can I pay in my own currency?
Prices are charged in GBP by card through Stripe. Your bank converts the amount; the site shows an approximate amount in your currency next to each price.
Can I do an IELTS course online?
Yes. Every class is live on Google Meet, and practice tests, homework and marked reports are on your dashboard. You need a laptop or phone, headphones and a quiet room.
How long does IELTS preparation take?
It depends on the format. The Crash Course is 2 weeks: ten live lessons of 90 minutes (CC-01 to CC-10), for learners with a test soon. The Full Course runs over 4 weeks with marked work every week. 1-to-1 Coaching is booked by the session. On the free consultation we suggest a plan from your level and test date. Should I choose online or classroom classes?
Our classes are live, so you can ask questions and get corrected as you speak, from anywhere. Groups are up to 8, and your Writing and Speaking are marked after class. One-to-one or group coaching.

Academic or General Training: which do I need?
Universities in every country usually ask for Academic. Most migration routes, such as Canada Express Entry and Australian skilled visas, use General Training, and UK visas need a UKVI-approved test. We confirm yours on the free consultation.
Is a crash course worth it?
